To Get What You Want, You Must First Give it Away

Thank God its Monday,

It’s the beginning of another week and we have the opportunity to show up today ready to contribute value to our world. We are all blessed with special gifts and talents that our world needs. Our special talents are God’s gifts to us, our gift to him is to share those gifts freely with the world.

When we are living and expressing our highest integrity we are enriching the lives of others while fulfilling our own destiny. If we remain mindful of this, we will never experience a bad day. Sure there will be challenging times, but when we are serving from our abundance we will always be living our highest purpose.

To feel valued we must create value for others. This is the great paradox of life.

Whatever we want to experience we must first give it away. Most of us have it backwards. We erroneously think that once we have the things we want, then we should begin to give. This thinking breaks one of the most important universal laws that exists, “What goes around comes around.”

If you want to experience love, give your love away. If you want more wealth, give your wealth away. Fill in the blank, it doesn’t matter, the formula is still the same.

Try it today. Ask yourself what it is that you want more of, then begin by giving that very thing away to0 as many people as possible. Now watch how your world changes forever. The shift you experience and the impact you have on others will reflect back to you ten fold. It’s just the way the universe moves through us.

The 3 Most Important Roles of Leadership

Thank God it is Monday,
Leadership is a common topic I like to write about. Why? Because all success rises or falls on leadership.
The three most important objectives of a leader are:
                                   1. Set the vision and establish a strategy for the company or organization.
                                   2. Attract, hire and train the very best available talent.
                                   3. Create a top rate culture and ensure everyone has bought in….
These may seem to be simple things to accomplish, however, you might be surprised how many leaders fail to implement these objectives. A failure to do so will have devastating consequences to the long-term success of the organization.
Without a clearly defined vision the organization will struggle to gain traction. An organization’s “WHY” is its life blood. If everyone within the organization doesn’t clearly understand how what they do positively impacts the consumer, you are just another product or service.
Simon Sinek stated in his best selling book Start with Why, “Most people know what they do, most know how they do it, but very few know WHY they do what they do. Even less can articulate WHY they do what they do.” This is the difference between great companies and those who struggle for market share and identity.
A leader must always be on the prowl for talent. The organization can only rise to the level of its’ people. Surround yourself with the most talented people available.
You can’t have a great company without a great culture. Culture transcends egos and agendas. Culture creates a WE and not ME mindset. It is focused on serving others and delivering an exceptional experience for your customers or clients above and beyond the needs of the individual employee.
A great culture will attract the right people who believe in what you believe. This includes employees and customers. Changing a bad culture is very difficult. You need to get this right.
As a leader, if you focus 80% of your time on these three objectives, you will build a world class business.

Perfection is an Illusion

Thank God it’s Monday,

So many of us become paralyzed by the need to be perfect. When we are faced with new opportunities we typically experience one of two thoughts. One is how things could go wrong or secondly what do I need to do to make this absolutely perfect. The end result is the same, paralysis.

A wise man once told me, “there aren’t right decisions, only decisions we make right.” This statement changes everything. It alludes to that fact that perfection is an illusion. It is our intent and actions that determine our results. If we wait for the perfect time, circumstances or conditions to take action we will be waiting for a very long time.

Nothing will stop the forward march of creation than the need to do things to perfection.

Our results are solely based on the actions we take. As we proceed and observe our results, if they are not what we anticipated, then make different decisions and take new actions. This is the formula to achieving the results you desire. Observe, make distinctions and course correct as needed. That is the secret sauce to success.

There are endless amounts of opportunities in today’s world. It is time to take action and eliminate the perfection mindset. You deserve all the success and abundance the universe has to offer, if you are willing to just get started. Make a decision and make it the right one!

Building Up Others

Thank God it’s Monday,

It is common for me to address leadership in these blogs. The reason for this topic is, everything rises and falls on leadership. Our personal leadership derives our success. Our ability to lead ourselves is rooted in discipline and guided by values. Leadership can transform a business, team, organization or nation with a clear vision, strong moral character and great personal skills.

Great leaders go out of their way to boost the self-esteem of their personnel. They authentically encourage and praise their followers. When people believe in themselves it is amazing the things that can be accomplished.

Have you shared with those around you how important they are? It doesn’t matter if you are running a business or not. We are all leaders. Our leadership is reflective in our families, friendships and communities. Look for the opportunities to acknowledge and compliment all those you come in contact with.

You can begin to transform your business and life with better leadership skills. The cool thing is you will also begin to see others mirror your behavior and become better leaders themselves. Which is the true definition of leadership.

A Shortcut to Success

Thank God its Monday,

For a long time, I believed to achieve success required hard work and commitment. I was told, if we just kept our nose to the grindstone we would eventually achieve all our dreams. Don’t get me wrong, hard work is an important personal attribute, but there are plenty of people who work their tail off everyday and never seem to realize their goals. Why is that?

It is the smarter not harder concept. When you reach plateaus in business and in life, the secret to busting through to the next level is expanding your knowledge. Yes, you can work harder, but at best that will increase your effectiveness and productivity by 8%….. at most.

To experience epic growth requires better information and knowledge to do what you do…better. That means to let go of your ego and ask for help. That is right, I am speaking about hiring a coach. Someone with the knowledge to help you get to the next level. To hold you accountable. To lead and inspire you. A great coach or mentor is a shortcut to success. Find someone who has already created what you want and hire them.

Far to many people are unwilling or to stubborn to ask for help. They become frustrated and incredibly negative, therefore they are chronically stressed and unhappy…… needlessly.

Get uncomfortable, step out of your comfort zone, and ask for help. Find a coach and stop the cycle of endless frustrations and wasted time. The longer you wait to take action, the more it cost you in time and money.

This is your shortcut to success.

Just Stop!

Thank God its Monday,
So often these weekly blogs are all about what we need to do to become successful. What new thought process we need to adopt or new actions we need to take. The information and concepts shared in these blogs are from my personal experiences in life and business, as well as from leading experts in the world of business and personal growth and finance.
I can personally guarantee that if you apply the lessons learned in these blogs you can create and achieve anything your heart desires.
In this weeks blog I want to offer a totally new concept.
It is time for you to give your mind a respite, a retreat from all your daily routines. It is important to just stop doing and to just ………be. Even if it is for an hour, a day, or a week, just stop! It is impossible to hear your soul’s desires (where dreams originate) amongst the clutter. Spend some time meditating or in prayer. Take a walk in nature or a vacation. Whatever it is that allows you to disconnect.
You will reinvigorate and rejuvenate your body and mind and renew your energy and focus to see your dreams manifest into reality.

Fear is Normal, Shrinking to Fear is NOT!

Thank God it’s Monday,

Do you minimize your expectations to avoid being disappointed? Thinking small will always result in disappointment.

Thinking small comes from doubt, uncertainty and fear. We unconsciously minimize our expectations for many reasons. The biggest of all is fear.

– The fear of failure or disappointment.
– The fear of change.
– The fear of worthiness.
– The fear of humiliation or shame.
– The fear of loss.

If you have read any of my past blogs, you know that overcoming fear is essential to unlocking the greatness that already exists within. Tapping into your greatness requires letting go of these fears and taking action. What awards or accolades have been won by playing small?

Especially in today’s world where those who dare to act and be bold achieve success. Those who are willing to step outside their comfort zone achieve greatness. Anyone who has dared to be great, all experienced fear. The difference is that they didn’t allow their fear to define them.

Where are you playing small in your life? Stop and think hard about this. Then ask yourself, “Why?” How does this serve me or humanity? What is the cost of playing small?

Embrace your fear and take action. Unleash your inner greatness because time is finite and the world needs you to step up to your greatness.

Live inspired, be abundant and fulfill your destiny,

Embrace your fear and take action.

Does Character Really Matter?

Thank God its Monday,

Have you ever considered how important character is to success? Not just your character, but also the character of each member of your team? In a recent survey of a 1000 people, an overwhelming majority 72% believes that personal character is the most important attribute of a leader. The character and integrity of an organization matters most when potential clients choose who they would prefer to do business with.

I believe when we are building our team, too often we spend more time considering talent than character. Think about it, talent without character is like having a sexy sports car without gas. Consider talented athletes, performers or politicians who have serious character flaws. They almost always wind up destroying themselves and their careers. The list is almost endless.

This why I suggest that you consider the character of the people you associate yourself with and the people you allow on your team.

A team built on strong character allows talent to reach its full potential. It will bring out the best in an organization and its people when adversity strikes. It always has.

The most successful individuals and teams surround themselves with high character people. Our character is our moral compass, it defines us.  A strong character leads to good decisions because we don’t have to think long about what is right.

Our character defines us so never stop striving to become a better version of yourself. If you are building a team, hire people of high character first, strong energy second, and who are talented third.

Is it better to be right or kind?

Thanks God it’s Monday,

We live in very tumultuous times. There appears to be conflict everywhere you turn. People are yelling and screaming at each other, as if that is going to solve anything. We have seen a real erosion of respectful public discourse.

There is plenty of blame to go around but that is not what I would like to focus on. Today I want to examine how we can change our immediate world. How we can become role models and lead those around us.

Every person believes his or her point of view is valid and correct. Persuading someone to consider a different position is difficult and often times impossible. Often the best argument you can make is no argument at all.

To begin, with if there is a lack mutual respect and kindness there is no possibility of finding common ground, therefore arguing becomes pointless and a complete waste of time.

The universal law of reciprocity states we must first give away what we want to attract. If we want to be heard, we must listen first. If you want to be respected, show respect. If you want to be understood, listen to understand. If you want a calm and unemotional experience, then remain calm yourself.

If we keep in mind of the above lessons, then we will always walk away with a positive experience knowing that we exemplified the qualities of a person in control of their thoughts and emotions.

Should you find yourself in a situation quickly spiraling out of control remember this incredibly important rule. “It is better to be kind than right.” You will at least leave the situation with your dignity and the relationship still intact.

It is better to be kind than right

Do you Experience “Angel Talk”?

Thanks God it’s Monday,

Have you ever experienced moments of inspiration or had an epiphany or new idea? Neale Donald Walsch, calls these moments “Angel Talk”. This is a cool way of describing messages from God or the field of intention. Whatever it is called, it doesn’t really matter.

What matters most is we pay attention to theses messages. “Heaven talks in snippets, not in speeches.”

We all experience moments of inspiration and it doesn’t require us to be religious. Do you find yourself paying attention to these inspirations? More importantly, are we acting on these messages?

When you find yourself being blessed with these messages or hunches, stop, listen and act. These are blessing from above that should not be ignored. Be thankful for them. It means that you are in tune with the infinite. There is no greater gift.

Have an abundant and inspired week,

Angel Talk
